Winner! :D
I used to draw the winners - so it was completely fair

The winner of the 100 point prize is...
:icontwilightgirlx: Congratulations! :D

And to apologize for my lack of proper timing to draw the name of the winner, I also used again to draw the name of someone who would receive a free commission from me if they wanted one! The winner of that commission was...

Thank you everyone for participating in this giveaway, and everyone's name will be posted on my page for the month of November. Keep doing good deeds!

Okay, so today I was feeling really generous, and I felt like doing some random acts of kindness. This is one of the few that I have planned so far.

Deadline - October 1st

The rules: (You don't have to be my watcher to win)

- To enter for a chance to win, you have to fave this journal
- Comment with a random act of kindness that you've done for a stranger
- If it's something you've done with physical evidence, please share a picture either via in the comments, or provide a link! :happybounce:

Edit: (Please be forewarned, holding the door open for someone is in fact not a random act of kindness.)

This is entirely on my part to promote random acts of kindness in everyday life! It's always wonderful to brighten someones day, even anonymously doing something that would make someone happy is the most amazing thing that anyone could do :) So come on guys, let's share the love and joy that everyone so deserves! It'll make the receiver feel great, and you'll feel great doing it as well

Also! Even though I only have enough points for one "winner", everyone who participates in this giveaway will be featured on my page for a month! :tighthug:

Have a super fantastic day! :happybounce:
If anyone would like to donate some points or anything to this giveaway, that would be greatly appreciated!  Any donations I receive will be used for more giveaways, and potentially to give some more people points who join!

ALSO guys, it would mean a lot to :iconfeather-dragon: if you were to participate in this -…
Thank you all so much for participating!

Skyriaa Featured By Owner Oct 20, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
I apologize - because they have yet to be announced. I had a few very stressful things pop up, and I haven't gotten anything regarding DA or School done :s I hope to have the winner announced tonight though!

Thank you so so very much for your patience! I know it's probably getting ridiculous with the amount of time this has run over :s

Once some dumbass kid was forcing his religion onto another person, and I DIDN'T cut him for it

You know, as wonderful as that is, I honestly can't enter you for that. If you don't support the idea of the giveaway - where I'm giving MY points away -  then you don't need to join. Simple as that. Now if you actually want to take this seriously, you can.

oh oki. well, i revived a message saying i got a fave from somone i didn't know at all. I visited their homepage and they had a journal entry where he (or she? i didn't look xD) was feeling sorta sad and ill. This was his entry:

If you want to talk to me except killing my comments on my page or your own just send me a note instead please. Oh and also I'm really ill so maybe a get well soon? I've only had 3 today :( (Sad)

Bye :iconi-love-rainbowdashe:

so i cheered him up by giving him a llama and a watch, and saying to get well soon :)

I dunno if this counts, it's a bonus thing i do all the time, but after a complete stranger faves one of my works, i thank them, and if they fave me more than once, i give em a llama :)

I don't really know if this counts, but even so. I was stood in line waiting to get my train ticket from the machine, and the woman in front of me seemed to be struggling for change. She looked really embarrassed and upset. I tapped her on the shoulder, asked how much she was short on and paid the rest of her ticket. It wasn't that much but she was so happy, it made my whole day.

I remember when I came out of this shop out into the streets, there was this little boy running passed me super fast and I saw that there was this old lady trying to chase him that seemed like his grandma, but she couldn't catch him. So I just quickly stopped the boy and the lady was able to get hold of the boy again, and she thanked me a lot :meow:

Well, one day I helped a random old lady carry her grocery bags. She looked very tired, so I helped! I wish I had some picture, her eyes showed so much gratitude!

These comments are all so nice~! ;w;
They've actually shown me that there are people who aren't half bad out there.

Lemme see if I can think of anything I've done that can work here;
-I gave a homeless dude some money.
-I highfived a stranger in Chick-fil-A a few weeks ago (dunno if that is counted as "kindness", but considering that he wasn't looking too happy and I made him smile, I suppose that's something, right?).
-I helped a lost woman in Six Flags find a restroom.
-I was at the park once, hanging out with a few younger kids. Just 'cause. There'd been a dog there all evening (mind you, it was one that looked like it'd attack you if you'd gotten too close. Large dog. Like a doberman~) which we'd all kind of been avoiding. 'Til one of the little boys strayed off that way. I followed him, even though my parents weren't too keen on it (yelling at me to keep away from the dog) because I didn't want to see him get hurt. I eventually got him away from the dog and nobody was injured.

Does any of that count as kind? ;w;

I own a flock of backyard chickens. They lay more eggs than I, my neighbors, and customers will ever use so I donate the rest to our local food pantry.

I was at a baseball game, and a woman dropped her purse, and all of her change spilled out.  Everyone else kinda walked around her, not helping. So, I picked up every penny, nickel, and dime. :3 Does that count?

i helped a mother find her daughter at a festaval (it was a small one, so small it took up our elementary soccer feild)
During a fire drill at our school, there was this girl who was shivering (it's already pretty cold where I am) and I lent her the sweater I was wearing.

I smile at everybody, even though I am pretty anti-social. So many people who have committed suicide have said 'If even one person had smiled at me, showed me they noticed me, anything.... maybe things would be different.'

So maybe I could make somebody feel warm.
MandaCait Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2013  Student General Artist
An act of kindness?
Maybe, the time when I gave an hand to a blind woman who fell and dropped her open wallet to get back on her feet and collect all her dropped coins.

Or when I gave my finished assignment to a classmate so she could turn the research in and not getting scolded by the teacher... but there again, It wasn't a problem to me: I always had top marks for the majority of the subjects in my grade, so the teachers are prone to close an eye and let things slip unnoticed if sometimes I don't turn in some homeworks...

At schoool, I helped one girl that I found crying in bathroom (for her bad grades) to study a subject that I didn't know, I spent more than an hour there with her, but at least she was so happy even if she got just the sufficiency.
I think I could not spend that time in a better way that time:love:
Meadowind Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2013  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Awwww! What a beautiful supercute idea! I loved reading the other comments. It really brightened my day, warmed my heart and restored my faith in humanity.

Sadly, I can't remember a certain random act of kindness I could write about myself.
That's why they are so random, I guess.

This is the latest thing I can recall: Today I was giving a street musician some money because he played an interesting instrument which sounded really beautiful and I have never seen it before. (It looked like a Wok) I wish I could have given him more. But I hadn't much money with me. I wish I could give such street musicians more money in general, especially when I appreciate their music. I wish I could give higher tips when ordering ice cream or for a commission on dA.
I wish I could support everyone in some way.
I can be a really kind and generious person. Some people already used me because of this...
The problem is, if I would already earn my own money, then I would give it to random people or organisations which I think they deserve it and will make good use of it, and wouldn't have enough for myself to live left. >.> I am not earning my own money yet, but I'll see that coming... Or, when I am not giving away money or points but offer my help, advice or drawings instead, then I wouldn't even have enough time to earn enough money for myself to live left... I can still help people on that way, as long as I have the time. drawings, anyone? x'D

Long stort: I wish I could make more people happy with acts of kindnesses.

The problem after all is, random ones are just, well, random.

I randomly do proofreading for people around DA and, when I see they have committed a grammar error, do my best to explain them so they don't commit it again (does that really count?)
Meadowind Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2013  Hobbyist Digital Artist
It depends on how you are explaining these errors and whether these people perceived your comment as help or not, I think. What you are describing sounds like what many people would describe as "Grammar Nazi", which are commonly known for being unnecessarily annoying. (I am having huge problems with these double consonants in that word, feel free to correct me there)

Helping elderly people across the street even though they've told you to leave them alone and hit you with their afterwards wouldn't count either. Just to compare it to the common "Grammar Nazi".
MetalPorSiempre Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
AH! No, no... I try really hard to not be a grammar nazi...

I only do it when it is a literature/comic page/strip and I feel the person might be missing the message because of it. I also try to check if the person is Australian or American because their English is different from British, which is the one I learnt.

(Double consonants suck big time, best thing you can do is install a dictionary on your browser - they are free for Chrome and Mozilla - )

I actually usually end up doing it for people who are from non-English speaking countries because as a person from a non-English speaking country I know how twisted English grammar can be and how frustrating it is when you are trying to express something (a poem, a story) and people don't get it because you made up a word or used the wrong verb tense.

-There is also offering people to pay their bus ticket with my SUBE when they don't have/have lost their own, but that's just normal, bus tickets cost the double without SUBE, so anyone with enough balance in their own do it. It's part of being a civilized person, like giving your seat to pregnant women, old people, parents carrying babies -.
